St. Mark takes seriously God’s Word when He says:
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
The goal of St. Mark is to offer parents assistance in this vital task. We strive to do this in a variety of ways.
- Weekly Divine Services — We joyfully welcome children into our services, convinced that faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17). For more information on this, go here.
- Sunday School — We offer Sunday morning classes for our children to learn the basics of the faith through Bible History! Sunday School is taught by qualified members of St. Mark.
- Confirmation Instruction — For children in the 5th-8th grades, courses are taught by the pastor in Bible History and Catechism. Confirmation instruction is taught by Pastor Tomczak. For more information on this, go here.
- Yearly Events — St. Mark offers one-day and multi-day Bible schools for children ages 4-11 (3 and 12 year olds are not turned away) at Christmas, Easter, and during the Summer. You can see pictures from our most recent Christmas for Kids event here.
