Value the Sacrament

How often should the Lord’s Supper be offered?  How often should I receive the Lord’s Supper?  Didn’t Luther say four times a year was enough?  Doesn’t the Augsburg Confession say that the Lord’s Supper is offered every Sunday in Lutheran Churches?  Doesn’t Paul say, “as often as you do this”?

Such a simple questions, but one that sets off a firestorm of discussion in most Lutheran parishes, especially in the Wisconsin Synod these days.

Pr. Johnold Strey offers some comments in his congregational blog on this topic that are worth reading and pondering.  Check out his post entitled, Value the Sacrament.
